All Quiet on the Western Front

I loved this book. It was one of the best this summer. Its all about the german side of world war 1. Its written by Erich Maria Memarque who is a german vet of world war 1. Erich uses the name Paul Baumer for his main character. Erich starts out the story with Paul being close to the battle front, then goes on to telling on how Paul got there and where he had been to train, who he had trained with, and his friends from school that had join the army with him. for about two chapters, Paul tells the reader about why he joined the army, what he thought about the army, and of the friends and life he had before joining the army.the book has many main and minor characters with lots of detail in them so its has lots to tell about. Then the story goes on by taking a character out untill, paul was the last at the end of the of the book where paul dies by reaching for a butterfly and then being shot. this book has a movie to it just like any other great book so if u like great movies and books watch the movie and read the book.
